P-WEC's School Visits with American Volunteers
P-WEC's School Visits with American VolunteersPetungsewu Wildlife Education Center (P-WEC), ProFauna's wildlife and forest education center, holds regular school visit as one of its education activities to the public disseminating protection and conservation messages. In school visits, P-WEC educates the school children through fun but informative activities where children learn about wildlife and nature in different ways with what they learn in schools. Last week of October 2010, P-WEC visited three senior high schools in Greater Malang, East Java, to educate the children about tiger conservation, helped by two volunteers from the United States as the center is not only an education place, P-WEC also accepts foreign volunteers to stay and help there.
During the visits, P-WEC played a tiger conservation movie to make the children know more about tiger and encourage them not to buy products made from tiger body parts. Apart from that, Ari Packer and Janet Lee, the volunteers, led some educational games about tiger conservation for the children. They loved to be visited by P-WEC.
As shown on the image, P-WEC, volunteers, and the children "roar" for the tiger.
